Thank you Jesus!!!!

After all the "stuff" we've gone through since January 9th, we FINALLY received good news this week regarding Desi's SS# and the ATIN:-)

First of all, Steve and I made the trek to Memphis on Monday to meet with a USCIS officer. We were told that THIS was our last option. If they couldn't help us then no one could:-( Guess what they told us...."Sorry, but it looks like you're just going to have to wait this one out." It was a long ride home because "waiting it out" meant that we probably wouldn't get Desi's new Certificate of Citizenship until sometime next year and so getting a SS# issued would be impossible until then. We applied for the ATIN the 6th or 7th of February and were told that it could take months to get this. UGH!!!!!! Stupid, stupid government.....that's what I kept mumbling under my breath:-) LOL

Tuesday morning on my way to work I decided to call Becca at Senator John Boozman's office to let her know what we were told. She has been so helpful trying to assist us in getting this resolved. I had to pull over as she began telling me that just the day before she had finally found out that our paperwork to get Desi's COC expedited had gone from the Texas Service Center all the way to California and was now BACK at the Texas Service Center. She explained our situation to the lady on the phone and (this next part is GREAT) she AGREED to pull our file out of the 20-30,000 files it was behind (NO, I'm no kidding) and process it. It should be approved within 10 days and then it takes 10 days to reprint and get it in the mail. We are hoping to have it by the end of MARCH!!!!! Then we will FINALLY be able to get Desi a SS#!!!! Praise you Jesus.

Now, you'd think this would be the end of it but you would be wrong:-) I came home today from picking up the kids at school and what did I find in our mailbox??????? The ATIN!!!!! The one that was supposed to take months and months to get here arrived in less than ONE month!!!! NOW we can file our taxes and get our adoption refund!!!! Praise you Jesus AGAIN!!!!

We are just overwhelmed with joy that it appears the end of our paperwork nightmare is almost O V E R!!!!
