Since I haven't posted in a while I thought I would let everyone know what's going on. Today, June 24th, we have been waiting 15 days for our LOA. The average wait is 50 days so we're not quite 1/3 of the way there:-( Once we receive this document, travel is only about 11 weeks later!!!
I have been working on fundraiser projects (look on the right side of our blog), grant applications and yard sale stuff to fund the rest of our adoption. Our yard sale will be August 6th if anyone is interested in coming:-)
Devan finished up her first World Changers project last week and this week she has been white water rafting and climbing Pike's Peak during their travel time in Colorado. She should be on her way to Tulsa, Oklahoma today.
Jordan is preparing for her mission trip to Durango, Colorado in a couple of weeks. (Do you see a pattern here???) She will be working in a soup kitchen and doing something with kids (not quite sure about this part yet). She will be gone from July 9th-July 17th. That week I will have children in 3 DIFFERENT states and one country!!! I know, crazy isn't it?
Jenna has been spending her summer days in the pool and at the gym and is getting ready to start VBS this weekend. She has been doing something lately that shows the depth of her thinking. She's bending her arm and putting her hand into her shirt, leaving her arm down to her elbow exposed and then trying to do things like button her pants, pick objects up from the floor, etc. She said she wants to know what Desi feels like. She wants to see how hard it will be for her to do things around the house. I honestly think she's preparing to teach her little sister how to do things easier once she gets here!!! That's my girl:-)
It almost feels like we're in a "holding pattern" at this point. Waiting for each step to be complete until we bring Desi home. I wish I could get an update on her each week but this just isn't possible:-( Until we get the LOA we can't even send her a care package. Everything is just sitting on my dresser until we get the go-ahead that China has given us their official approval. Desi still doesn't even know that she has a family. So, we just continue to count down the days. As I've said 1000 times before, God's timing is Perfect!!!
