After receiving our referral Monday night we sent GWCA an email letting them know that YES, we wanted to proceed with Liang Ruo Hua's adoption. I mean, how could we not:-) Tuesday around 5:30 I received an email from Cori with a list of things they needed by noon today. I took one look at the list and I felt sick. How in the world was I going to get ALL of that done in less than 48 hours? Well, thanks to Misty at our church and the grace of God, I was able to get it all done in less than 3 hours!!! Crazy, huh? I thought so too but all of our agreements, pictures, letters, etc. was emailed to GWCA yesterday.
Today I finished the LAST form needed for our dossier. After printing the copies I needed it was off to the post office:-) Right now our dossier is probably still sitting at the post office waiting but soon it will be on a plane headed for Texas!!! What a RELIEF!!! I think the last thing we have to do is have Lori change our home study to say we're approved to adopt a 3 1/2 year old. Our original home study said we were approved to adopt 5yrs-14yrs. Of course, God kind of put a kink in that now didn't He??? LOL Then I will need to have our I-800A approval amended to show the same thing. Thankfully these documents do not have to go through the same process as our other paperwork (whew!!).
I have asked Cori to request updated medicals and pictures of Desi. Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll get some new pictures. Maybe there will even be one of her smiling!!! I'm still trying to get her name translated so we know which part of her Chinese name to keep. I'm also working on a photo album to send her so she can see who her new family will be. Maybe that will keep her from being so scared when we travel to pick her up. I've also got to get started on her blanket. All the girls have blankets that are hand-made by me. Actually Devan's was made by my mom but I helped!!!
I think that's it. Now it's just about WAITING!!! Oh how I dislike that word:-)
